Day events include day courses and empowerment, and generally run from 10am – 4pm.
On day courses we look in more detail at Buddha’s teachings and try to cover topics not always covered in our general classes, such as refuge, relying upon a Spiritual Guide, or the Wheel of Life (our next day course) These day courses are open to everybody and are suitable for those with some experience of meditation and Buddhism. However, this is not a pre-requisite, so if you are completely new but interested in the topic please come along! A day course comprises two meditation sessions, two teachings, discussion and breaks for coffee and lunch. Day courses are led by the Resident Teacher, Kelsang Lhachog, or by one of our more experienced teachers.
Empowerments are held twice a year, and are a a special ceremony whereby you can make a connection with a particular enlightened being, or Buddha. If you’d like to find out more about empowerments and what they mean, or to request a particular empowerment please call the Centre.
